A Good Giggle

My girlfriend Mary sent this to me the other day and I think it's hilarious! It was a custom piece for a bride and groom designed by Erin Jang. I think a plump kid gnawing on the first tier would be a welcome edition.

For the Love of Paper

The Paper Place down on Queen St. West is holding their slew of winter workshops this month and next. The Print Making Workshop, being held on Tuesday, November 24th, might be of interest for those looking into doing something a little more hands on and homemade for their wedding invitations (or any other occasion that requires a card). If you have even a little inking of creative talent, this would be worth checking out!

Pearl Bridal Trunk Sale!

There's a sweet little shop on Lakeshore Road East in Mississauga that sells a selection of bridal wear. A few of my clients have purchased their wedding gowns from Pearl Bridal with great success. The staff are very professional and the atmosphere of the boutique is posh and intimate (a difficult balance to strike).

If you are in the market for a wedding gown, Pearl Bridal is having a Trunk Sale for Melissa Sweet gowns on November 13 - 14 and Priscilla of Boston gowns November 21 - 22!
Happy Shopping!

Gobble, Gobble!

It was Thanksgiving Day Weekend and my first time coordinating a wedding at this "Harry Potter-esque" venue.

The venue courtyard

All hands were on deck as we busily set up the cocktail area and dining hall. We finished just before the guests arrived. Phew!

The cocktail and receiving area

Don't you love the mailbox...

and the M & M's?

The photographs don't really do this venue justice. I really need to invest in a better camera. The ceilings in this place went on forever.

The day proceeded flawlessly. The venue was the stunning ... but the bride and groom outshone this place! These newlyweds were awesome clients! Thank you for letting me be part of your day!

Rainbow Connection

It was a cloudy day. Rainy. Drizzly. Not one that you would wish for as a bride. But, alas, weather requests are beyond one's control.

The wedding venue

Then, as if by divine intervention, the clouds parted, giving way to a rainbow. Not just one, but two! Imagine! I must admit, I had to stop myself from photoshopping a unicorn galloping down from the heavens.

The bride, the groom, the photographer, minus the galloping unicorn

The bride did a wonderful job planning her wedding. The details were thoughtful and self-crafted. Like the banner for the fireplace ...

The fireplace, adorned with family photographs

and the table numbers and place cards ...

and even the row of ferns that hung in a line from the dining room ceiling...

It was a really lovely wedding and one of the most pleasant ones to co-ordinate. The staff at the venue were very professional, the vendors were spot on and the bride and groom were wonderful clients. This made for one fine day!
