A New Year, A New Batch of Weddings to Plan...

I know. It's been far too long. Six months in fact. It's not like I've not been busy but maintaining this blog has definitely fallen in my priority list! I hope everyone is enjoying the start of 2011. I look forward to more weddings this coming year!

Here's a few ideas to share for you planning brides-to-be!

thisfineday has some wonderful card holders made of little logs!  So cute!

The folks at inklore created this little pouch you can keep in your freezer for bumps and bruises. No more bag of frozen veg to sooth your headache. Could be great guest gifts!

Or, how about all these beautiful customizable accessories from Paloma's Nest?

Or, maybe you fancy some custom wedding invites from &kathleen?

A Country Wedding, Sorta

After planning and organizing many weddings within a stone's throw from Toronto, it was time to co-ordinate a wedding in Caledon. Caledon is out in the country, and about an hours drive northwest of Toronto. The drive is pleasant, green, quiet and until I found the venue, a bit disconcerting. You see, while you're driving past farm land, country homes, seeing few people and on the road with fewer cars, you have to wonder - where is the hall? And then, like a reassuring hand on your shoulder, you see the sign for the venue and breathe a sigh of relief. I made it!

Laurie, the bride of the day, has a keen eye for detail and drama.  Have a look.  You won't be disappointed!

Then, night fell. The candles were lit and the fireworks were launched!

The fireworks were far more fantastic than my slow reaction time with my camera. Guests danced and sang the night away with the live band!

Thanks Laurie and Mariano for letting me co-ordinate your day! Congratulations to both of you! Happy Wedding!

Summer Wedding in May!

I know, I know. It's been a while since I've been here. I am just getting to updating today!  I really don't have an interesting excuse other than it's been busy. Time just flies when you're wedding planning! My first wedding of the year happened in late May and what a fine one, indeed!

My clients really lucked out with the August weather we've been experience here in southern Ontario as of late. The air was warm, the sun was hot and the sky was blue. No complaints here.  Guests at weddings often ask if I had anything to do with arranging the day's weather. I tell them, "Of course!"

Chairs wait anxiously for guests to arrive for the ceremony

A field of chivari chairs

Tables ready to roll out

The centrepieces ... makes you want to jump into a garden that looks exactly like this!

Pretty! (Top view of the envelope vase)

Thanks Jenn and Russ for letting me be a part of your day! Your wedding was fabulous!!!

I Heart Textiles

I have been digging through my numerous piles of fabric in order to sew up some potential party favour sacks for an event. I have narrowed the colour selection down to this pile! I'm unsure what design I will use for the sacks, but I'm thinking some grosgrain ribbon to cinch a drawstring bag would be quite sweet.

Martha Never Fails to Impress with "A Good Thing"

Cupcakes are wonderful because:

1)  They come in single servings.
2)  They look good collectively and own their own.
3)  They bring out childhood nostalgia of licking off icing and leaving
the cake.  (You can do this still!!!)
4)  They're just plain fun!

Join the clamoring brides who have passed on the traditional cake for something a little more... cute!  Here are some pretty little cakes from Martha Stewart.

So Pretty!

I was just perusing the J. Crew website, as one of my newest clients is ordering her bridesmaids dresses from their online store, and I came across these lovely pieces. Their a unique twist on the traditional dress.

A Good Giggle

My girlfriend Mary sent this to me the other day and I think it's hilarious! It was a custom piece for a bride and groom designed by Erin Jang. I think a plump kid gnawing on the first tier would be a welcome edition.
